It is an administrative section of Hwange District, Matabeleland North province, located in western Zimbabwe. Victoria Falls has a population of 25,400 people, according to the 2019 census. It is predominantly composed of Ndebele people and there are also a few people from other ethnic backgrounds. It is in the Central African Time zone, which is one hour ahead of Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). The climate of Victoria Falls is tropical wet and dry. It's hot and humid throughout the year and precipitation is seasonal. Summers (November to March) usually have high humidity and temperatures average between 22°C–34°C. The heaviest rainfall usually happens in January and February. Winters (April to October) are mild and dry, with temperatures averaging between 15°C–26°C. Victoria Falls receives over 750mm of rain annually. These rains bring periodic flooding which affects areas near the Zambezi River. Most of the vegetation growth is during the wet season, and the area has a unique mix of African Savannah, bushland, and rainforest.
