Climate and Weather

Tete is a city in Mozambique located about 400 km northwest of Maputo. Tete has a subtropical savanna climate, with hot and humid summers and cool, dry winters. The average temperature ranges between 20°C and 28°C and the region has two rainy seasons, the first one being between December and March, the second between March and April. Tete experiences a dry season between August and October and the area is usually affected by cyclones in the Mozambique Channel in December and January. The relative humidity is usually high, ranging between 75 and 90 per cent. Average annual precipitation in Tete is higher than the national average, ranging between 1000 – 1500mm.

There are two airports in Tete: Mhtatá Airport and Angonia-Sanga Airport. You can get from Mhtata Airport to downtown in Tete by taxi for about 10 USD (roughly 8.2 Euros). Unfortunately, there is no facility at the airport to change money.
