Maun is the fifth-largest town in Botswana. It lies in the North-West of the country, in the heart of the Okavango Delta. The climate in Maun is tropical savannah with wet and dry seasons. Temperatures stay hot year-round, ranging from an average of 24°C in July to around 30°C in January. Rainfall is mainly concentrated into the wet season during summer. October to April receives the most rainfall, around 990mm, while the driest months (May to September) will receive just 50mm or less. Humidity can be high during the wet season and the dry season can become incredibly hot and dry with temperatures soaring up to 35°C.
