The Zambia Kwacha (ZMK) is the official currency of Livingstone. Even though Zambia's main currency is the Zambian Kwacha, US dollars are accepted in most shops. US dollar bills must be in good condition and crisp.
Livingstone is known as one of Africa's most attractive tourist destinations. It is home to the spectacular Victoria Falls, one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World, and is a great place to visit and explore.
Climate and Weather
The city of Livingstone is located in the southern African country of Zambia. As such, the local climate is strongly affected by the country’s proximity to the tropics. For much of the year Livingstone is hot, with temperatures ranging between 20 and 30 degrees Celsius. The humidity is also high. The wet season lasts from October to April meaning that most of the city’s precipitation occurs during this time. It usually comes in the form of thunderstorms and usually lasts no longer than a few hours. The dry season lasts from May to September and is much cooler with temperatures hovering between 10 and 20 degrees Celsius. Winds usually blow from the north during this period.
Livingstone’s climate is suitable for much of the year and is especially enjoyable during the dry season. If you’re planning a visit, make sure to pack for the heat but also bear in mind that an umbrella and some light raincoat might come in handy.

There are only two airports in Livingstone: Livingstone Airport (also known as Harry Mwanga Nkumbula International Airport) and Kenneth Kaunda International Airport.
You can get from the main airport to downtown Livingstone by taxi or shuttle service. The cost depends on the distance, but should be in the range of 30 to 50 Zambian Kwacha.
