Cornwall is a county of England located in the South West. As of the 2021 census, its population stood at 566,300. It is unique in the UK in that it has two time zones: Cornwall is within Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) +1.00 (Western European Time) while the Isles of Scilly use UTC+0.00 (GMT). The majority of Cornwall's population speaks English as its primary language, although a notably large number of people also speak Cornish, a language closely related to Welsh. While not officially recognised by the UK government, Cornish is recognised by the EU as a regional language. The currency used in Cornwall is the British Pound Sterling.

Climate and Weather

The climate of Cornwall is mild, with relatively mild winters and warm, sunny summers. Cornwall enjoys milder weather than most of the UK, due to its proximity to the warm waters of the Atlantic Ocean. In fact, according to the Met Office, Cornwall enjoys the warmest winter temperatures in the UK. Though there is plenty of sunshine throughout the year, Cornwall can be quite windy, and in winter temperatures can drop below freezing. Cornwall also experiences higher levels of rainfall than most areas of the UK, mainly because of its western location. Due to its mild climate, Cornwall is the perfect destination for outdoor activities such as walking and surfing. Visitors to the county can also enjoy mild temperatures in the summer, ideal for days on the beach!
