Cairo's climate is mainly characterized by its hot and dry desert climate. Part of the year is very hot and dry, while during the remainder of the year it's hot and humid. Summers are long with temperatures consistently rising above 95°F (35°C). April to late May and September to November tend to be the hottest times of year with temperature highs exceeding 105°F (40°C).
